THE WORLD HEARING DAY 2025
The Mayor Nsengimana Claudien joined Ruhengeri Level Two Teaching Hospital for the celebration of the world hearing day 2025, under the theme: “Changing Mindsets: Empower Yourself to Make Ear and Hearing Care a Reality for All”. The celebration of this day coincided with screening campaign and Community education on Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) diseases and the official inauguration of ENT equipment, donated by the Project Life International led by Dr David Shaye.
In his remarks at celebrating the World Hearing Day, the Mayor appreciated the partners Project Life information for the donation of ENT equipment in 10 public hospitals and stressed that the day offers a valuable opportunity to raise awareness about hearing care. He said: “It is a time for us to prioritize hearing health, not just as a medical concern, but as a matter of social and economic equality.” He called on everyone to change the mindset that hearing loss is inevitable and cannot be prevented and treated.
This important event brought together Healthcare Professionals, Policy Makers and & Community Leaders to raise awareness on Head and Neck Diseases as well as Hearing Care and Prevention of Hearing Loss.
