Team Europe Joint Mission Visit to strengthen collaboration in health and youth develpment
A delegation of Team Europe Joint Mission, led by H.E. Amb. Belen Calvo Uyarra, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Rwanda, and composed of ambassadors of France, Germany, Netherlands, and the chargés d'affaires of Poland and Luxembourg, conducted an official visit to Musanze District, where they visited a number of development projects suported by EU Member States, including the Youth Centre and Ruhengeri Hospital, which renovation is supported by the Agence Française de Développement.
In his welcoming remarks, the DES Mr. Alex Kanayoge appreciated the valuable cooperation between Rwanda and the European partners in advancing quality health care services, and the shared vision of improving lives through investiments in health and human development.
He stressed that the planned construction of new Hospital, supported by the French Government represents a significance milestone for Musanze district, which remains committed to working with all pertners to ensure its success for community benefits.
The main focus of the visit at the Youth Center was to visit various initiatives designed for young people and to engage them in discussions about the benefits they derive from the center, as well as how they make effective use of the resources provided.
At Ruhengeri Referral Hospital, participants were given a general overview of the hospital’s operations, with particular emphasis on the planned relocation of the Hospital in the near future.
Amb Belen, head of delegation appreciated the partnership between Team Europe and Rwanda, particularly in the health sector with the project on local manufacturing pf vaccines.
