Musanze District Holds Education Stakeholders Meeting to improve education outcomes
Today, in collaboration with Save the Children, Musanze District convened an important education stakeholders’ meeting focused on improving education outcomes and accelerating the implementation of the Zero Out-of-School Children Project.
Chaired by the Vice Mayor in charge of Social Affairs, Mr. Theobald Kayiranga, alongside the Zero OOSC Project Director, the meeting brought together a wide range of education stakeholders, including security organs, Sector Executive Secretaries, Sector Education Inspectors, headteachers from public, government-aided, and private schools, as well as journalists.
Stakeholders reviewed the performance of the second term and made preparations for the upcoming third term, while also assessing key achievements registered under the project. Participants shared findings from joint field monitoring visits and deliberated on strategies to enhance the identification and enrolment of out-of-school children. The meeting further emphasized the promotion and wider adoption of the Karame system in schools, alongside the introduction of a competition on enrolment and Karame usage to boost commitment and performance among education institutions.
The Project Director highlighted the overall vision of the initiative, emphasizing the importance of ensuring that all out-of-school children are enrolled and retained in schools. He also underscored the role of the Karame system in improving education management and accountability.
He further encouraged school leaders to actively engage in the newly introduced competition on enrolment and Karame system usage, stating that it would boost performance and commitment across schools.
In his closing remarks, Vice Mayor Theobald Kayiranga reaffirmed the district’s commitment to achieving Zero OOSC targets. He warned that any school leader who fails to effectively implement project activities would be held accountable, stressing that underperformance would not be tolerated.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from all stakeholders to strengthen collaboration in ensuring inclusive education for all children in Musanze District.
