Musanze District Advances Digital Skills for Employability Project to Empower 10,000 Youth

The Vice Mayor of Musanze District in charge of Economic Development, Mrs. Uwanyirigira Clarisse, together with the Director of the Musanze District Youth Center, Mr. Aimable Rwigamba, held a meeting with representatives from DOT Rwanda to discuss the implementation of the four-year Digital Skills for Employability (DSE) project.

The initiative is designed to equip 10,000 young people with digital and entrepreneurship skills, empowering them to access sustainable employment opportunities, create their own businesses, and improve their livelihoods. By strengthening the capacity of young people to thrive in the digital economy, the project is expected to make a significant contribution to youth employment and the socio-economic development of Musanze District.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for DOT Rwanda to introduce to the District leadership the selected youth trainers who will facilitate peer-to-peer training under the DSE project. These trainers will play a key role in ensuring that participants acquire practical digital and entrepreneurial skills that respond to the demands of the modern labor market.

Implemented by DOT Rwanda in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, the DSE project will be rolled out across seven sectors of Musanze District: Muhoza, Cyuve, Remera, Gacaca, Nkotsi, Busogo, and Gataraga.

Musanze District remains committed to collaborating with development partners to create opportunities that empower young people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to contribute to inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
