Leaders are called on to avoid indifference and emotional decision-making

In consultative meetings held at Cyuve, Gacaca, Muhoza, Rwaza, Kinigi and Nyange sectors, to discuss issues affecting the well-being of the population. The leadership of the district called sector and cell-level staff, Members of the Human Security Task Force and All elected local leaders from the sector, cell, village and Isibo levels, to demonstrate integrity and avoid indifference and emotional decision-making in their responsibilities.

The activity of visiting sectors to assess and address issues affecting citizens’ well-being went on. In Cyuve and Gacaca Sector, the Mayor of Musdanze District, Mr. Nsengimana Claudien along with Brigade commander, Lt Col. Shadrack Karamira, Chairman of RPF Inkotanyi in Musanze District, RIB representative, led the visit. 

In Muhoza and Rwaza Sectors, the Vice Mayor in charge of Economic Development, Mrs. Uwanyirigra Clarisse, along with security organs, led the visit while the Vice Mayor in charge of social affairs Mr. Kayiranga Theobald led the team worked in Kinigi and Nyange sectors. 

During these visits, district teams held consultative meetings to collectively assess and discuss how to address human security issues identified as affecting the well-being of citizens in the 2025/2026 profiling exercise. Following the Mayor and vice mayors’ remarks, a screening session was conducted using existing lists to identify which individuals or households could resolve their issues independently and which ones needed assistance. 

The Mayor emphasized the leadership values expected of local leaders, urging them to avoid indifference and emotional decision-making in their duties, uphold truth, responsibility, and proactive engagement. Security agencies reiterated the importance of ensuring safety and crime prevention, timely information sharing and proper use of the visitors' logbook (entry/exit records).
