Musanze District is one of the 5 Districts of the Northern Province created by the organic law n˚29/2005 dated on 12/23/2005 related to administrative entities of the Republic of Rwanda. Its capital is Ruhengeri which is one of the largest cities in Rwanda.
It is made up of former entities mentioned below:
-   Ruhengeri town
-   Mutobo District
-   Kinigi District
-   14 sectors of Bugarura
-   3 sectors of Bukamba

THE VISIT OF COTE D’IVOIRE PRIME MINISTER GUILLAUME SORO IN NORTHERN PROVINCE ON THE10/11/2011

On the 10th November 2011, the PRIME Minister of Côte d’Ivoire Right Honorable Guillaume SORO visited Mutobo Centre located in Gataraga Sector/Musanze District, Northern Province which receives the ex-combatants.
Together with the delegation from his country, the Prime Minister of Côte d’Ivoire was accompanied by The Rwanda Minister of Defence General James KABAREBE, The Minister who has gender and family in her attributions Madam INYUMBA Aloysie and the Minister of State in charge of community development and social affairs in MINALOC Madam MUKABARAMBA Alvera .

musanze urged to map disaster prone areas 17/12/2011

Members of musanze District Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) should clearly identify zones that are highly prone to disasters.

This was one of the resolutions reached at the end of a two-day workshop of 40 members of the committee, including district and sector officials, as well as representatives from the military, police, Red Cross and religious organisations.

The meeting was called following landslides and floods that hit Muko, and Busogo sectors in musanze District in the recent past.

His tour started in Kinigi sector visiting a plot where a five-star hotel by Serena was saying to be built in the buffer zone of the Volcanoes National Park, but he urged that an alternative land of 2 hectors will be provided to the investor within a minimum of 800 meters from the park ,for
